As a composer/lyricist/arranger/recording artist, she is a powerhouse of musical talent combined with business acumen, ambition, and a desire to also help other artists succeed.
Influenced by an eclectic array of poets from Shakespeare to Poe to Langston Hughes to Maya Angelou, Maritha has been writing lyrics since age 13.
“It started as a hobby—writing jingles and coming up with melodies in my head. So, I invested in studio equipment to learn how to produce instrumental tracks and write to them. This led to full-time composing, songwriting, singing, and music arrangement.”
Today, Maritha owns a recording studio in Atlanta where she manages her production team, the Nima Beamer Dreamer Team. She writes, arranges, performs, and records her own songs and offers recording and management services to other artists. A compilation of her songs and lyrics is available upon request, and she welcomes artist inquiries about recording, lyric writing, music arrangements, or instrumental tracks needed.
Several of Maritha songs are currently available online, and she plans to release her first CD soon.
More About Maritha
Maritha’s music, sound, and style can best be described as IbeTifusa Sound a sub-genre of electro-pop, synth-pop, indie-pop and new wave. In other words, it’s a sound uniquely her own. Something deeply moving that must be heard to be appreciated—filled with melodic musical riffs, clear tones, irresistible beats, intriguing layering's, and vocals.
She takes her musical and vocal inspiration from classic performers such as Nina Simone, Natalie Cole, and the great Diana Ross, as well as more contemporary recording artists such as Stevie Nicks, Amy Winehouse, Nora Jones, Sting, and Prince.
“My uniqueness is being able to connect with any audience; it doesn't matter what genre. My lyrical compositions will take you on an epic ride.”
As if song writing, composing, arranging, performing and recording weren't enough, Maritha has recently introduced a line of comfortably casual “studio clothing.” Comprised of T-shirts, sweaters, and hats, her colorful clothing line reflects the cultural essence of the entire IbeTifusa brand.
